I'm jumping on the bandwagon and have created a knitting blog. Lets just leave it at that, shall we, and not dwell deeper into what this might mean.
This summer was marked by the discovery of sock knitting. I believed I would never take on sock knitting. It just seemed too much work, and painfully repetitive - one sock gets finished and now you have to do the same thing all over again. That is, before I realized what instant gratification and portability socks as projects provide.
I have now completed a pair of the famous Monkeys by Cookie A. for myself, in Koigu Painter's Palette , a pair of Boyfriend Socks for the boyfriend, in the ever flamboyant Socks that Rock Red Canyon color way, and a a Jaywalker pair for my greatest friend, Tirstan, for returning to me from Japan, from some really pretty Artyarns Ultramerino 4. This gives me the most amount of finished projects within the span of four months within the three years I've been knitting.
On the needles at the moments is Boudelier by Cookie A again, I have already lost TWO of my No.2.00 needles to it. I have been trying to locate metal needles in the local stores, but in this size they only seem to have bamboo which doesn't hold up nearly as well as it claims to.
I still have a skein of Socks that Rock Knitters Without Borders that I intend to use for sock creation. I am actually quite in love with sock yarn in general, especially Blue Moon fibers, and I am considering remaking the hat I made for the boyfriend last year in sock yarn rather than DK.
At the moment, however, I am focussed on a pink monstrosity of a sweater for a little three year old. She chose the colour herself, which is why it looks hideous, but you can't argue with a toddler. It's a hand dyed Cascade 220. The process is slow going, but I'm hoping to finish the back and front sections by the end of September.
